Dry abrasive blasting for suitable robust parts

VMC also removes paint, rust and scale from suitable steel and cast-iron components. The dry-blasting cabinet has an approximate working envelope of 650mm W × 450mm H × 450mm D. Send photos and dimensions so the correct process can be confirmed.

Appointment-only workshop

Send photos first, then VMC books the right route.

VMC is not a walk-in counter. Clear photos help confirm suitability, price and turnaround before Charlie arranges workshop drop-off, collection or agreed post-in handling.

How it works

Send photos first. Get a clear quote. Then arrange drop-off.

The main journey is simple: photo assessment first, workshop drop-off by appointment second. Post-in is a controlled exception, not the default.

Send photos

Use WhatsApp or email. Include angles, size and condition where possible.

Get assessment

VMC confirms suitability, price guidance and expected turnaround.

Arrange drop-off

Workshop visits are by appointment only. If post-in is suitable, VMC will agree it before anything is sent.

VMC blasts

Parts are processed in-house using the selected professional vapour/wet blasting or dry abrasive blasting route.

Collect from workshop

Collect from Aubourn; return courier is only arranged where agreed in advance.

Pricing guidance

Every part is quoted from photos.

Pricing depends on size, condition, complexity, quantity and prep required. The examples below are a guide only; final price is confirmed after photo assessment.

Small parts£25–£50
Medium parts£50–£100
Larger parts / batch work£80–£200+

Also available by quote: dry abrasive blasting for suitable steel and cast iron, paint stripping prep, ACF-50 where parts will not be painted, and post-in/return handling by prior agreement.

Send photos by WhatsApp or email

Trade & B2B accounts

Repeat work for workshops, engineering firms and industry.

VMC can support businesses that need reliable component cleaning, surface preparation or restoration prep without tying up their own workshop time.

  • Restoration, garage and motorcycle workshops
  • Engineering and manufacturing firms
  • Food production and packaging maintenance teams
  • Medical-sector suppliers and precision engineering businesses
  • Marine, agricultural and industrial operators
Suitability first

Specialist process, plain-English advice.

VMC selects between vapour blasting for a controlled satin finish and dry abrasive blasting for suitable robust parts needing paint, rust or scale removal.

For regulated sectors, VMC should assess material, use-case, cleanliness requirements and any compliance restrictions before accepting the job.

Next step: send a sample job or batch photos for suitability and trade pricing discussion.

FAQ

Questions before sending parts?

Is vapour blasting safe for aluminium?

Yes — it is commonly used for aluminium engine cases, carburettors and precision components because it is gentler and more controlled than dry blasting.

How do I get an accurate quote?

Send clear photos, approximate size, material if known, condition and whether you plan to drop off or post the parts.

What is the typical turnaround?

Most suitable jobs are typically turned around in 1–4 working days, subject to workload, condition and any prep required.

Can I post parts from outside Lincolnshire?

Yes. VMC references post-in availability by prior arrangement with post-in/return handling by prior agreement where arranged.

Do you blast painted or heavily corroded parts?

Often, after assessment. Parts must arrive fully stripped and ready to blast, with anything that media could affect removed. Condition and preparation affect price and turnaround.

Can trade customers get repeat-work support?

Yes — trade accounts are available for garages, restorers, engineering workshops, manufacturers, food-industry maintenance teams, medical-sector suppliers and other repeat commercial work where parts are suitable.

Ready to restore your parts?

Send photos now and VMC will come back with suitability, price and turnaround. If urgent, email or WhatsApp the workshop.
